There Are Monsters There are monsters
Everywhere here.
And I don’t know what
To do.

Claws scrape on
Rough pavement.
My paws take me
Far away.

But they still
Chase, chase, chase.
Can I not just
Slip away?

Not anymore.
They realize.
And so here
They come.

With nets, and
Trucks, and guns.
There is no
Escaping this.

So I let them
Take me.
Lock me away. In
The dark

What is that?
They say.
But I don’t know. They
Don’t see.

Blood seeps through
My white fur,
My pale gums, this
Worn body.

It’s so cold,
But death is that
Way when you let it
Take you.

And now my life
Is gone, I don’t know
